Hospitals were only allowed three days from the moment of request to delivery. Actually impossible. Within a very short time, the Chinese division of Huber & Ranner supplied the two hospitals in Wuhan with the urgently needed HY-CASE air handling units.
hen Huber and Ranner China received the request to supply the necessary devices as quickly as possible, the phone wires were ringing off the hook. “We normally have a delivery time of six to eight weeks for such AHU devices,” says CEO Billy Yang. Fortunately, Huber & Ranner had the required ventilation units in a similar form in production at its Taicang branch, around 50 kilometers from Shanghai.
The exhaust air units were positioned centrally in areas at risk. In addition, the numerous individual modules, so-called heating boxes, had to be installed in the duct system throughout the hospital. All in all, over 600,000 m3/h of air is treated in this way. The successful concept was also immediately applied in the hospitals in Shanghai (240,000 m3/h) and Hubei (320,000 m3/h).
“One of the reasons why the Chinese authorities opted for our solution was that X-CARE offered us the opportunity to provide quick and uncomplicated assistance in the event of technical problems,” says CEO Dietmar Huber. This made it possible to support assembly and commissioning live and directly on site from the Chinese plant 8,000 km away, or even from Germany.
