Construction & Design Principles
Precision-Engineered for Performance A decision for Huber & Ranner is a decision for quality. For over 50 years, we have developed Air Handling Units (AHUs) specifically designed to meet the highest demands for energy efficiency and operational performance. Founded upon a culture of continuous improvement, our units provide precision-engineered solutions for critical applications worldwide.
Robust Framework & ErP Compliance Our AHUs excel through their superior construction. A robust profile frame guarantees high dimensional stability and longevity. Naturally, all our designs are fully ErP-compliant, meeting and exceeding current European energy efficiency standards.
Smart Modularity (Plug & Play) Efficiency starts with installation. Thanks to our flexible modular design, individual components are easily connected through a sophisticated plug-and-play system.
Logistics: Minimized transportation costs due to smart module sizing.
Installation: Rapid assembly and commissioning on site.
Maintenance: Easy access to all modules ensures low service costs.
Hygienic Architecture Hygienic construction is our highest priority. Our newly developed design features perfectly smooth internal surfaces to prevent dirt accumulation. Crucially, all cable routing is located outside the airflow, ensuring that the air stream remains absolutely pure. We provide the ideal solution for hospitals, cleanrooms, and sensitive industries.
Engineering Support Our experienced engineers don’t just supply hardware; they provide solutions. Working closely with system designers and installers, we offer in-depth support at every stage—from initial design to final commissioning. A meticulous final inspection ensures that every unit leaving our factory meets the Huber & Ranner standard.
Built for Extremes (Weatherproof Construction) For rooftop applications, construction quality is the first line of defense. Our units feature weather-resistant casings designed to withstand extreme fluctuations in temperature and moisture without material stress. Whether inside or out: We guarantee the perfect climate.
Expect More. Stability. Hygiene. Efficiency.
Corrosion Protection for AHU Casings –
C4 and C5 Environments
High humidity, salt-laden air and industrial pollutants
place particular demands on air handling unit casings.
HUBER & RANNER offers a range of casing materials
and protective coating systems, individually selected
to suit the exposure conditions at the installation site.
Two protective coating options are available for
galvanised steel casings used in C5 environments.
They differ in their coating build-up and
intended durability range.
Low Durability
C5 Basis
- Galvanised steel sheet with an anti-fingerprint coating
- Additional
60 µm two-component polyurethane-acrylic coating
High Durability
C5 Premium
- Galvanised steel sheet with an anti-fingerprint coating
- 120–140 µm primer
- 60–80 µm topcoat
Stainless Steel Casing Options
In addition to coated galvanised steel casings,
HUBER & RANNER offers stainless steel casing
options. Depending on the specific exposure
conditions, the following materials may be selected:
- For C4 applications:
V2A stainless steel, EN material number 1.4301 - For C5 applications:
V4A stainless steel, EN material number 1.4404
Operating Conditions Determine the Specification
The choice between V2A stainless steel, V4A stainless
steel and coated galvanised steel is made individually,
based on customer requirements and actual pollutant
exposure. Chloride concentration, humidity and other
environmental conditions are particularly important
factors. The suitability of the casing material is
therefore assessed for each project.

conditions and the appropriate casing specification.
RLT-Herstellerverband (AHU Manufacturer Association) Huber & Ranner is a long-standing member of the “Herstellerverband RLT-Geräte e.V.” (Association of AHU Manufacturers). The association’s goal is to promote air handling technology at the highest technical level, drive standardization, and foster innovation.
Hygiene Certified (ILH Berlin) Modern Air Handling Units must ensure hygienic indoor air quality. Without proper design and maintenance, ventilation systems can become a breeding ground for microbial growth. With extensive expertise in ventilation hygiene, the ILH Berlin certifies that Huber & Ranner products meet the strictest hygienic requirements (e.g., VDI 6022), ensuring safe and clean air operation.
For exports to Russia and the Eurasian Economic Union, strict regulatory standards apply. Huber & Ranner holds the necessary certificates (such as GOST-R / EAC) to comply with local consumer protection and safety laws, ensuring a smooth import process for your projects.
Service We remain at your side even after delivery. Flexible and straightforward, we offer individual, all-around service for the entire lifecycle of your unit.
