Battery cell gigafactory – Salzgitter is the internal benchmark for transformation. Volkswagen is working in parallel on its Accelerate strategy to establish itself as a leading provider of sustainable mobility and drive forward the decarbonization of production. It is therefore imperative to strive for the best achievable value for the CO2 balance. The request for proposals was correspondingly demanding.
HUBER & RANNER, a global manufacturer of air handling units with a comprehensive technology portfolio, impressed VW, one of the leading car manufacturers, with its air handling units for the production of battery cells and was awarded the contract. The reduction in energy consumption of the air handling units is achieved through the use of highly efficient heat recovery and special axial fans.
